Ross J. Partington

Ross J. Partington, 63, of Hughesville, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at Valley View Nursing Center.

Born July 15, 1954, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of Frank E. and Joan A. (Hartwigsen) Partington. He and his wife, the former Betty A. Stackhouse, would have celebrated 40 years of marriage on Jan. 14, 2018.

Ross dedicated his life to teaching, retiring in 2010 from the Pleasant Valley School District. He taught Physics for a total of 32 years in four different schools, including seven years in Seoul, South Korea. He was an outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed camping, hiking, traveling and photography. Ross was previously active in Boy Scouts, serving as a Scout leader. He also had a fondness for music and enjoyed playing his trumpet.

Surviving in addition to his parents and wife are a daughter, Erin J. (Bryan) Buczek, of Birmingham, Ala.; a son, Adam J. (Liz) Partington, of Nazareth; two sisters, Lyn (Bruce) Sklar, of Gaithersburg, Md. and Gail (Larry) Storey, of Greensboro, N.C.; two brothers, Kurt (Shirnel) Partington, of Mountaintop, and Scott (Jeana) Partington, of Raleigh, N.C.; and two grandsons, Liam R. Partington and Hunter D. Partington.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Hughesville.
