James H. Harder II

James H. “Jim” Harder II, 75, of Cogan Station, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at his residence.

He was married on May 18, 1974, to the former Carol A. (Cline), who survives, and they have celebrated almost 44 years of marriage.

James was born in Harrisburg on April 29, 1942, and was the son of the late James H. Harder Sr. and Vivian F. (Houser) Wright.

He graduated from Loyalsock High School and served with the U.S. Army. He owned and operated Jim’s Auto Sales and retired August 31, 2015. He was a member of the Fairlawn Community Church and enjoyed old cars and car shows.

In addition to his wife Carol, he is survived by one son, Jonathan T. Harder (Brenda), of Unityville; one daughter, Rebecca S. Woodring, of Williamsport; one granddaughter, Alexis J. Harder; and one brother, Stephen S. Wright (Karen), of South Williamsport.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Susan F. Wright.

There will be a Life Celebration for Jim, held 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at the Fairlawn Community Church, 353 Pleasant Hill Road, Cogan Station, with the Reverend Stephen Cutter officiating.

Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.

Arrangements are being handled by Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport.
