Mr. James L. Lorson, 79, lifetime resident of Bastress, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at UPMC Williamsport Regional Medical Center.

Born August 13, 1938, at Jersey Shore, he was the son of the late Edward E. and Dorothy E. Bower Lorson.

He and his wife, the former Lorraine A. Wenner were united in marriage on May 22, 1965, at Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church at Bastress.

Jim had attended Jersey Shore schools. He retired from Steinbacher Enterprises after 35 years of service. He was a member and communicant at Immaculate Conception Church and was also a Sacristan there. He had been a Bastress Township supervisor for 30 years., and had formerly been a PA Forest Fire Warden. He had served in the PA National Guard.

Jim enjoyed vegetable gardening, was a fan of NASCAR, and enjoyed hunting. He was most happy when he was spending time with his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife Lorraine at home, are his three children: Kelli (Keith) Neece, Brian J. Lorson, both of Williamsport and Tracie (Jeremy) TenEyck, of Jersey Shore; his grandchildren: Samantha, Jarret, Rylie, Aliyah, Harley, Baleigh, Tanner, Ella, Jude, and Eden. He is also survived by his eight brothers and sisters: Joanne (Robert) Wenner, Linda (Dave) Bartges, Carol (Charles) Tacka, John (Ellen) Lorson, and Denny (Dawna) Lorson, all of Bastress, Larry Lorson, of Williamsport, Steve (Denise) Lorson, of South Williamsport, and Nancy (Ken) Bashista, of Montgomery.

In addition to his late parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Craig Alan.

Funeral services and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at 11 a.m., in the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 5973 Jacks Hollow Road, Bastress. His priest, Father Bert Kozen, will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow in the Church cemetery.

There will be no visitation and the family respectfully declines to receive floral tributes.
