Mary J. Johnson
Mary J. Johnson, 92, formerly of Montoursville, passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the UPMC Williamsport Regional Medical Center. Mary was born February 1, 1926 in Williamsport and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Helen Zarzyczny Krezmer.
Mary worked as a clerk at the former Thrift Drug store of Montoursville and volunteered at the Divine Providence Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church and of the Auxiliary of the U.S. Postal Clerks. She enjoyed playing cards, jigsaw puzzles, traveling, crocheting, and was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs.
She is survived by her husband Andrew W. Johnson with whom she shared 68 years of marriage. A son, Gregory A. (Deborah) Johnson of Williamsport, 3 daughters: Deborah J. (Walter) Padworski of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Karen M. (Ralph) Temple of Bloomsburg, Teresa J. (Michael) Plumer of Edgewood, MD, a nephew George Krezmer, a niece Judith Krezmer, and by 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by a sister Ursula Krezmer and by a brother Raymond Krezmer, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Wednesday, February 7, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 100 Walnut St. Montoursville. Friends will be received following the mass in the church hall. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
