Kathleen G. Crouse

Kathleen G. Crouse, 90, of Williamsport, passed away quietly on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at the Williamsport Home. She was born in Williamsport, on Sept. 23, 1927, the daughter of Raymond S. and Elizabeth B. Mitsdarfer Graff.

She was a 1945 graduate of the former St. Mary’s High School. Kathleen took secretarial courses at the Williamsport Technical Institute (now Penn College) and attended Lycoming College. She first served as the Administrative Secretary to the School of Hope in its very beginnings on Catherine Street (now part of Hope Enterprises). During World War II she worked with many U.S. Government offices such as the U.S. Maritime Commission, the War Assets offices and served as secretary to the U.S. Commander at the former Susquehanna Ordnance Depot. Kathleen retired in 1992 as a claims service representative from the Social Security Administration.

She was a former member of ABWA in Williamsport, a life member of Beta Sigma Phi and Divine Providence Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara C. (Paul) Barrett, of Hughesville and 3 sons, Michael J. (Patricia) Crouse, of Mt. Joy; Richard M. (Susan) Crouse, of Biglerville, Pa. and Thomas R. (Veronica) Crouse, of Montoursville. In addition to her children, she is survived by her brother, Donald J. (Mary) Graff, of East Amhest, N.Y.; sisters, Mary L. Heffner, of Montoursville, and Gloria A. Whitman, of Hummelstown; and former spouse, Robert L. Crouse Jr., of Cogan Station.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Rev. Dr. Robert L. Graff, William H. Graff and John M. Graff.

She has 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Boniface Catholic Church, 326 Washington Blvd., Williamsport, on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at 10 a.m. Friends may call at the church lounge on April 3, from 9 a.m. to time of services at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions in Kathleen’s memory be made to St. Boniface Church or Hope Enterprises, 2401 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
