Richard N. Talbot

Richard Nathan Talbot passed away on March 9, 2018, in Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa.

He is survived by his wife, Doris, of 65 years; two daughters, Deborah (Scott) Bastian and Denise (Michael) Garrison; four grandchildren: Noal (Jill) Bastian, Brittany Garrison, Scott (Ed Tucker) Garrison, Drew Bastian; and two great-grandchildren, Quinton and Elsie Bastian.

Predeceasing are his parents, Alfred and Eva Talbot, of Marshalltown, Iowa; and one sister, Alfreda (Harold) Florkey, of Dayton, Ohio.

Dick served as a musician in the Navy before teaching music in the public schools in the towns of Conrad and Marshalltown, Iowa. He joined the music department at Mansfield University in Mansfield, Pa. in 1967 and retired in 1991. Throughout his life he was active in professional and community service organizations, enjoyed participating in many musical activities and was a mentor and friend to his students and young musicians.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
