Paul E. Emenheiser
Paul Eugene Emenheiser, 92, formerly of York, passed away at home on Monday, June 18, 2018 in Williamsport. He was the beloved husband of Ethel Mae (King) Emenheiser, whom he married on April 24, 1948.
Born May 21, 1926, in York, he was a son of the late Roy Emenheiser and Ruth (Welsh) Emenheiser Attig.
A veteran of World War II serving from 1944-1946 in the U.S. Army Air Corp, he trained as a ball turret gunner and he served during the occupation of Japan.
He retired from Teledyne Readco after 43 years and was a life-long member of Christ Lutheran Church in York. Mr. Emenheiser lived his Christian faith daily and was a kind, gentle and compassionate example to all who knew him. He took great pleasure and pride in his family and warmly expressed his love. He also enjoyed gardening and woodworking into his late 80’s.
In addition to his wife of 70 years, Mr. Emenheiser is survived by three children, John (Marie) Emenheiser, of Elizabethtown, Susan (John) Bryan, of Williamsport, and Daniel (Michele) Emenheiser, of Camp Hill; six grandchildren, Steven Emenheiser, Lori (Donny) Eisenhour, Joseph (April) Emenheiser, Brady Emenheiser, all of York, Matthew (Erika Beers) Emenheiser, of Seven Valleys, and Brittney (Michael) Herr, of Mt. Joy; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and cousins, Linda (George) Emenheiser, of York and Philip (Jim) Emenheiser, of Colorado.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his step-father, Spurgeon Attig; sister, Ruth Emenheiser; brother, Charles Emenheiser; and step-sister, Thelma Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Christ Lutheran Church, 29 S. George St., York, with his Pastor, the Rev. Dr. Alan J. Watt, officiating, assisted by Bishop Robert Driesen. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in New Fairview Cemetery.
Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York, is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial service in Williamsport will be held at a later date.
