William V. Weiler

William V. Weiler passed away on June 18, 2018, at Lakeside, Willow Valley Communities. He was born June 28, 1929. Bill was the son of the late Henry R. and Anna Mae (Beckstedt) Weiler.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Esta (Graybill); and four children: Gregg (Richard), Karen Abernethy (Richard), Dena Fritz (Daniel), Kevin (Renee); ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Henry (Rita) and R. Louis (Jeanie).

Bill was a graduate of Quarryville High School and York College. Bill and Esta were married in Bethesda Methodist Church, Holtwood, Pa.

He was employed by Pennsylvania Power and Light for 44 years.

Bill was active in the United Methodist Church, the Muncy Community Pool, the Muncy Municipal Authority, Son-Light House community food bank, and The Vineyard youth center. Together, he and Esta participated in the development of the Memorial Garden at First United Methodist Church in Muncy.

Bill’s favorite quote: “If we don’t try, we don’t do. And if we don’t do, why are we here on this earth?” from the movie Shenandoah.

A memorial service will be held at Thomas Auditorium at The Lakes, 300 Willow Valley Lakes Drive, Willow Street, Pa. at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2018, with family and friends visitation following the service.

Memorial gifts in memory of Bill may be given to the Anchorage Breakfast Program of First United Methodist Church, Lancaster, Pa. or The Vineyard, Muncy, Pa., or a charity of your choice.
