Donald “Cappy” Richardson, 90, of Williamsport, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, at UPMC-Susquehanna Williamsport.
Born Sept. 29, 1927, in Throop, he was a son of Elijah Richardson and Ann Stedina.
Donald was a 1945 graduate of Throop High School and attended Notre Dame University. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
Cappy retired in 1992 from Glyco/Lonza after working over 30 years. He was a Chef de Gar of the 40/8, and a member of the American Legion Post 617 for 72 years having served as past commander and other offices.
He enjoyed puzzles and reading.
Surviving are three children: Ann Harris, of Williamsport, Catherine DeVaul (John), of Renovo, and Stephen Richardson, of Florida; a son-in-law, Randy Edge, of Cleremont, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Edge; son-in-law, Donald Harris; grandson, Donavan Harris; and two great-grandsons.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20 at All Saints Memorial Episcopal Church, 1656 Scott St., Williamsport. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
