Judith T. Conklin

Judith T. Conklin, 72, of Montoursville, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018, at UPMC Susquehanna, Williamsport.

Born Jan. 1, 1946, she was the first New Year’s baby born at the Williamsport Hospital in 1946, a daughter of the late Chester and Kathryn (Koch) Losell.

Judy was a 1963 graduate of Williamsport High School. After graduating she was employed for 6 years at WWPA Radio as their traffic manager.

On Sept. 3, 1966, Judy married her high school sweetheart, lifetime best friend and husband of 52 years, David W. Conklin.

Judy and Dave were the owners of their family business C & I Boiler Repair, Inc., where she worked as the company’s chief financial officer for more than 30 years until retiring in 2009. Her cheerful and positive personality showed as she truly believed in giving back to her community. Throughout her lifetime she was a passionate philanthropist, and became a very generous patron to society by making honorable donations to numerous organizations and businesses. Some of the charities close to Judy’s heart include Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, YMCA Muncy, Susquehanna Foundation Muncy, March of Dimes, American Lung Association, American Cancer Society, Make a Wish Foundation, Penn College and the American Red Cross.

Judy was a member of the Williamsport Country Club and loved playing golf with her husband, family and friends. She enjoyed spending time caring for her flowers, traveling, solving crossword puzzles, bowling and playing slot machines. Most of all, she loved and cherished her family and spending time with them at their cabin and at home.

Judy was a brilliant business woman with a wonderful sense of humor. She had a kind and caring heart, a beautiful smile and her immeasurable generosity touched the lives of many.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are her pride and joy, two sons who she loved dearly, Jeffrey (Kristine) Conklin and Timothy (Stacy) Conklin, all of Montoursville; seven grandchildren, Brett, Nicholas (Cali), Katie, Olivia, Cassie, Matthew and Colton whom she adored; two brothers Ronald (Sandy) Losell, of Mechanicsburg, and Charles (Linda) Losell, of Williamsport; and a brother-in-law, Robert L. Conklin, of Williamsport.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, James and George Losell; and two sisters, Louise Gibson and Barbara Miller.

A funeral service to honor the life of Judy will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 29 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
