Budd C. Zaner
Budd died on March 18, 2018, in Kailua, Hawaii. Born June 9, 1922, in Washingtonville, Pa. shortly after he moved to Williamsport. He graduated from Williamsport High School, joined the Navy and served in the Pacific during World War II, then returned to Williamsport.
He married Doris Stryker in 1946.
He was owner and operator of Zaner Lumber in Cogan Station for over 30 years. He helped develop and became an instructor of the Sawmill program at Pennsylvania College of Technology. After retiring he moved to Florida. His wife Doris died in 2009.
In 2016, he moved with his son David and his wife Linda to Hawaii. He was a VIP attendee at the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day.
He is survived by two sisters, Alona Hopler, of Allentown, Pa. and Mary McDonald, of Lansdale, Pa.; his son, David, of Kailua, Hawaii; three granddaughters, Allison Zaner, of Puerto Aventuras, Mexico, Colleen Gregerson, of Dublin, Calif. and Lauren Zaner, of San Francisco, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren, Jagger (Allison), Lola and Lucca (Colleen).
A graveside service will be held at Montoursville Cemetary on Sept. 12 at noon.
