Dorothy ‘Dot’ Crouch Keener

Dorothy “Dot” Crouch Keener passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, surrounded by loved ones.

She was born Feb. 23, 1935, to John E. and Frances Stevenson Crouch, in South Williamsport.

Dot attended school in Williamsport and graduated in 1953. Music was a large part of her life. She received piano lessons as a birthday gift and has been playing or teaching for seven decades.

Dot married Allen Keener, of South Williamsport, in 1953. They spent the next 20 years traveling around the world with Allen’s responsibilities in the United States Air Force. In 1954, they joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They moved to Utah in 1980 for employment and resided in Sandy, West Jordan and West Valley until Allen’s passing in January 2007.

Dot is survived by her children, Deborah (Kurt) Nelson, Naomi (Raymond) Cope, Rebecca Evenson and Matthew (Carrie) Keener; daughter-in-law, Brigid McGary; 13 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband; son, Dennis Keener; grandson, Andrew Cope; parents; and brothers, Bob (Ida) and Jack.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m. at the Hidden Chapel, 1450 S. 350 W., Bountiful, UT. A viewing will be held prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 S., Millcreek, UT.
