Douglas S. Holland

Douglas S. Holland, 56, formerly of Williamsport, passed away September 2, 2018, at his residence in Allentown.

He was born April 3, 1962, in Holyoke, Mass., the son of Raymond A. Holland and Barbara V. (DeArimitt) Hinston.

Doug will be remembered as an avid hunter, fisherman and exemplary painter and home restorer, having a passion for writing poetry and reading, especially history and Civil War. He was a woodworker, a good cook and always enjoyed a good laugh and happy times. He will be missed by many.

Doug was predeceased by his sister, Robin Starr, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Doug is survived by his father, Raymond, and stepmother, Linda; his mother, Barbara, and stepfather, Richard. In addition he is survived by his three children, John Holland, Melissa Holland and Jacob Holland; his two sisters, Relene (Lewis) Miller, and Lynette (John) Bonner; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, at the Northway Presbyterian Church, 1520 Northway Road, Williamsport, with Rev. Mark Passmore officiating. Friends will be received from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by the Spitler Funeral Home, Montoursville.
