Owen W. “Bill” Hinkleman Jr.

Owen W. “Bill” Hinkelman Jr., 90, of Linden, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, at Roseview Center. Surviving is his wife of 54 years, the former Beverly J. Clark.

Born Dec. 5, 1927, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Owen W. and K. Ruth (Buckley) Hinkelman.

Bill worked for Lyco Systems for 20 years and had the opportunity to travel across the United States and to several countries setting up water and sewage treatment plants. He also worked as an operator for the Williamsport Municipal Water and Sanitary Authority for 20 years. Bill enjoyed Philadelphia sports teams, the Phillies and Eagles, and played fast pitch softball in many area leagues for several years as a pitcher. He had a passion for classic cars and was meticulous about the care and upkeep of his cars. He could often be found mowing his grass and had a very dapper sense of style. Bill loved traveling with his wife Bev. Above all, he loved his family, especially his grandkids where he was always supporting them and the actives they were involved in.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Owen “Bill” Hinkelman III (Suzanne Nolan), of Trout Run, and Barbara D. Dalena (Daren Dalena), of Cogan Station, and six grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Molino.

A funeral service to honor the life of Bill will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Quiggleville. A viewing will be held 10 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at Sanders.
