Grant M. Diehl

Grant M. Diehl, 81, of Montgomery, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2018 at the UPMC Susquehanna Emergency Room, Williamsport.

Born June 18, 1937 in Montgomery, he was a son of the late Wilbur and Lillian (Klinger) Diehl. He and his wife, the former Georgia Dawn Crist, celebrated 23 years of marriage before her passing on March 11, 2007.

Grant was a graduate of Montgomery High School.

He worked at the former Milton Shoe Factory, Fox Knapp, Watsontown Foundry and later retired from HON Office Furniture. After retirement he enjoyed working at White Deer Golf Course.

Grant enjoyed flower gardening, woodworking and spending time in the outdoors. Most important was the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are eight children, Grant Diehl Jr. and his wife, Desiree, Daniel Diehl, Virginia Hill and her husband, Donald, Laurie Morey and her husband, John, all of Montgomery, Joseph Diehl and his wife, Brenda, of Allenwood, Pam Wiand and her husband, Dan, of Northumberland, Michael Hamm, of Milton, and Rebecca Diehl, of Montgomery; one stepson, Sherman Hamm, of Muncy; one brother and sister-in-law, Samuel and Sue Diehl; 29 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, Jonathan and Wilbur Diehl; and three sisters, Grace Trate, Janice Coots and Marcella Snyder.

Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Jacobs, officiating.

Burial will follow in St. John Lutheran “Brick Church” Cemetery, Montgomery.
