John A. Day

April 19, 1936 to October 18, 2018

A wild child from his youngest days. Blessed with little formal education. John forged through life with pure gusto and a solid joy of hard work and liquid refreshment.

Through a continuous series of poor financial decisions, he managed (with heroic assistance from his dear wife Peggy) to own a home. Raise 3 (some would say normal) children and amass a large group of loyal friends.

A lifelong hunter, John made many successful western trips to hunt mule deer. He was also responsible for an untold number of small racked PA bucks.

Predeceased by his wife Margaret. He leaves behind 3 children; Gregory Day (Stacy), Joni Bradley (Todd) and Mitzi Waldman (Tom). His 2 grandchildren; Nick Bradley and Devan Messner and his 3 beloved great grandchildren.

Loved by many, appreciated by all, looked on with bemused amazement by some. John leaves behind more friends than enemies.

He rode hard and was put up wet far too many times and did not leave a good-looking corpse. He was used up, burnt at both ends and thoroughly worn out.

We all should live so well.

A Celebration of John’s Life will be held Monday evening, October 22, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Zafar Grotto in South Williamsport.

Arrangements are by Crouse Funeral Home.
