Cleo Ella Rodgers

Cleo Ella Rodgers, 91, formerly of Clearfield, and recently of Williamsport, passed away on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at UPMC Susquehanna in Williamsport.

Born on January 30, 1927, in Clearfield, Pa., a daughter of the late Kenneth Sipe and Margaret (Wilt) Sipe, she was a graduate of Clearfield Area High School and a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church, in Clearfield. Recently, she attended St. John’s Newberry United Methodist Church in Williamsport.

She liked playing cards and was a former member of the NON Club in Clearfield. Before retirement, Mrs. Rodgers had been employed as a Legal Secretary.

Survivors include three children, Jan (Ray) Smith, of Williamsport, Scott (Cheryl) Rodgers, of Greer, S.C., and Thomas (Sharon) Rodgers, of Hollidaysburg, Pa.; grandchildren, Renee (Aaron) Deck, of Muncy, Pa., Erin Rodgers, of Chapel Hill, N.C., Kyle (Rachel) Rodgers of Taylorsville, Ca., Corey Rodgers, of Pleasant Gap, Pa., Thomas Rodgers Jr., of Rochester, N.Y., and Jennifer (Kory) Gribbin, of Akron, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Adilyn Deck, and Carson Deck, of Muncy, Pa.; and two step-grandchildren, Shirl Smith, of Williamsport, Pa., and Ray (Bekka) Smith Jr., of Waterville, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, David Rodgers, and sister, Beverly Baumgardner.

A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Newberry United Methodist Church, 2101 Newberry St., Williamsport, PA 17701, on Saturday, Nov. 24, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Lenore Hosier officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to a charity of the donor’s choice or Trinity United Methodist Church, 121 S. Second St., Clearfield, PA 16830.
