Monica S. Lutz

Monica S. Lutz, 98, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 1, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in South Williamsport on April 23, 1921, a daughter of Andrew A. and Mary Ann (Stopper) Schelb.

Monica was a member of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to South Side Senior Center at Messiah Lutheran Church and had been very active at the former Church of the Annunciation Parish Center, now St. Joseph the Worker.

Surviving are her children, Harold (Bonnie) Lutz, Robert (Marlene) Lutz, Ronald (Audrey) Lutz, Gregory Lutz, Christopher (Alisa) Lutz, Andrew Lutz, and Kathleen (Jerry) Crosby; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bernardine Lutz.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Harold T. Lutz, who died Aug. 25, 1986, a grandson, Thomas Lutz, and brothers, Andrew and Joseph Schelb, sisters, Marcella and Teresa Schelb, and Sister Mary Schelb I.H.M., all preceded her in death.

The family will receive family and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, July 5, at the church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, 800 W. Central Ave., South Williamsport, at 11 a.m., following the visitation. Her pastor, Rev. William Corcoran will officiate. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Montoursville.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice.
