Kenneth W. Crooks

Kenneth W. Crooks, of 19 Hugh’s Road, Trout Run, he was welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord Jesus Christ on Aug. 26, 2019, surrounded by family.

Born on July 13, 1940, in Williamsport, he was the son to late Thomas W. Croooks and Mable V. Crooks (Hopkins).

Kenneth was a Liberty High School graduate, who went on to serve the Air Force as a Draftsman from 1959-1965 in Smyrna, Tenn. He went on to pursue a life long career as a self employed woodsman, which he loved and took great pride in. Kenneth was strong in his faith always put God first, as a longtime member of Pleasant Hills Christian Church. He enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, and went hunting and fishing whenever he could. Ken loved food and was a true gamer. He would play cards, croquet, pool, horseshoes and could play any word games for hours — he loved to win and if he wasn’t you played till he did.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his loving wife, Carol A. Crooks (Kiess); and his oldest grandson, Skyler D. Wool.

Surviving are his two daughters, Misty L. Spotts (Charlie), of Jersey Shore, and Shelly L. Route (Jason), of Trout Run; seven grandchildren, Aeriale L. Spotts, Jesse M. Spotts, Logan T. Wool, Selena A. Route, Brody L. Route, Ashlyn V. Wool, Jasmyn L. Route; a great-granddaughter, Adalynn A. Wool; younger brother, Neihl H. Crooks; younger sister, Florence L. Crooks; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends in the community.

We will all miss his loud laugh which could be heard houses away.

A celebration of Kenneth’s life will be held on Sept. 14, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the White Pine United Methodist Church, 45 Campbell Road, Trout Run, PA 17771. Following the service, Ken will be be honored with full military honors by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital, 1100 Grampian Blvd., PA 17701.
