151 years young, region’s YMCAs continue advancing

The YMCA recently held its 151st annual dinner to celebrate the services and work at its five branches in the region.

There was plenty to celebrate.

Locally, the YMCA in the past two years has settled into new headquarters in Williamsport that offer a wider array of services and programs than ever before, all in modern operations.

But the other four branches in the region take a back seat to no one and offer services that have literally saved lives in a variety of healthy and emotional ways, judging from first-person stories told at the dinner.

The YMCA in this region has done an exemplary job of responding to societal changes and continually updating and upgrading its offerings, facilities and services. Credit goes to the leaders and the workers at all of the region’s YMCAs for keeping the organization relevant and thriving.
