3 students take caring further
Jersey Shore teacher Karen Fausnaught recently asked her students to answer this question: Who are your hometown heroes and how can we tell their story?
Three girls, Ariah Butler, Breanna Porter and Emma Kauffman, read of local homelessness and the work the American Rescue Workers do regarding it. It moved them to organize a battery of fundraising programs for the Rescue Workers.
The money — $1,000 and growing — will be used to help fund the organization’s costs at the Saving Grace Shelter.
That’s the sort of citizenship and community heart that makes our region special. Great job, students!
