For the sake of Pa.’s taxpayers, please do not scrap all of PLCB! Keeping the state’s purchasing power and a lower profit margin on wine and spirits would continue to give taxpayers a greater reduction in taxes indefinitely than just a short term windfall profit would provide by selling PLCB. The state should also continue warehousing wine and liquor. Together, this would continue convenience and availability for retail customers, and for small, but growing vineyards and wholesalers in rural areas.

I agree the state should close its Wine & Spirits stores. Taxpayers would save millions in expenses from paying leases, rentals, utilities, wages, and benefits. But, at least give state employees a few years to downsize thru attrition and transfer.
