Airline priorities

The article, Fly the Friendly Skies, FAA to close 149 air traffic towers, was interesting. When you think of the FAA at the airport, the first thing that comes to mind is Air Traffic Controllers. If you was Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and wanted the masses to revolt against this small budget cut or the sequester. You would kill jobs that the public sees every day while at the airport and not the hidden ones.

He had no comment when he was pressed about the $2.7 billion in non-personnel costs, such as $500 million for consultants and $200 million for supplies and ground travel that could have been cut instead. He would rather let the masses believe cutting air controllers is the only option. Wake-up.
