Constitutional tears

I was watching a program on the TV the other day. They were sinking one of our WWII aircraft carriers off the Florida coast to be used as a fish habitat. They gathered men who once served on that ship to witness the sinking. Some of them were crying as they saw the ship they served on being sunk. As this ship slowly slipped beneath the waves, I am sure those men were thinking about the sacrifices of their ship mates.

A lot of American men fought and died for this country on so many ships and foreign soil. I must admit there are tears in my eyes as I watch our Constitution slowly slipping into the sea of political correctness, and humanistic philosophy, our constitution that has served us so well, a lot of men shed their life’s blood in defense of this document. We hear some of our leaders now say this document is some how in their way, it is preventing them from achieving their agenda stopping them from doing what they want to do. They tell us it is old and decayed and out of date.

This document is what makes America different from the rest of the world. After many days spent in drafting the constitution Ben Franklin walked out on the streets of Philadelphia, a woman, Mrs. Powel, stopped him and asked “well doctor what have we got a republic or a monarchy,” his reply to her was “a republic if you can keep it.” Well cup cake don’t look now but there is fungus among us and this republic is slipping away.

Ben Franklin also said anyone who trades Freedom for security deserves neither liberty or security. This freedom we are losing slowly slipping away will never be regained. We are trading our inheritance for a hollow promise of paradise, and security. We have rubbed the bottle and the genie came out, looking somewhat like the candy man, giving treats to everyone.

Take a long look at National Socialism in Germany in the 1930. We are falling for the same lines they fell for. My fellows Americans, don’t be disheartened and give up voting; when good men do nothing, evil triumphs. Get informed stay, informed, inform your neighbors and friends, and do it for your grand children and great grand children don’t let it slip away. Seek diligently the God of the Bible while He may still be found.
