Mansfield University’s students recent singing “Short People got no reason to live!” was an in your face, MU- endorsed, mean-spirited act of bullying on campus!
This 1977 cruel song was deemed so awful that in 1978, legislation was introduced in Maryland and Massachusetts to make it illegal to play on the radio. Despite my many requests to Mansfield’s President Francis L. Hendricks (’79 Brig Gen USAF) regarding this hateful and callous incident, he nor any official from MU has yet to respond. Brig Gen Hendricks’ cowardly refusal to respond, either to apologize or support the singing of this song on campus casts doubt as to what it takes to become an officer and gentleman. To think that 3,000 students rely on his “leadership”.
