Facts, please

Well, here we go again. Another rabid anti-gunner spouting off without the facts Sept. 25.

Thirteen deaths? Referring to the recent Chicago gang shooting? How about 13 wounded, not dead? How about the fact that Chicago has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation, and the highest murder rate? How about the fact that, without enforcement and prosecution, all of the 20,000+ gun laws in place are irrelevant?

How many laws were broken by those hoodlums to get those guns?

The liberal populace is only interested in controlling the law-abiding citizens, because it’s just too hard to control criminals.

The Supreme Court said, in June of 2005, “that the police did not have a constitutional duty to protect a person from harm, even a woman who had obtained a court-issued protective order against a violent husband making an arrest mandatory for a violation.” This from the New York Post, June 28, 2005.

If the letter writers and others of his ilk prefer not to hunt, plink, engage in the shooting sports, or protect themselves and others, more power to them.

Don’t step on my rights and freedoms!
