Protecting their own

In the history of the U.S. Congress, few members have been expelled or censured. Not because they didn’t deserve it, but because they protect each other.

Fifteen senators have been expelled – 1 Democratic/Republican, 14 Democrats.

Five representatives have been expelled all 5 Democrats.

Eight senators have been censured – 1 Federalist, 3 Republicans, 4 Democrats.

Twenty-three representatives have been censured – 5 Republicans, 15 Democrats, 3 other.

To be expelled means to be kicked out. To be censured means nothing to them. The day after, it’s business as usual.

Term limits are objected to by some who say we don’t need them, just vote the bad ones out. The only chance we have of getting term limits added to the Constitution, is to elect senators like Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Marsha Blackburn, and representatives like Trey Gowdy, Jeff Duncan, Ben Quale and Jim Jordan. Forget RINO’s like McCain and McConnell, and no Democrat will ever vote for term limits. What this means is a Republican-controlled U.S. Congress with a Republican president. Otherwise, the “old boys” club will just go on, and it benefits no one but them.
