Donating your body

Have you ever considered donating your body to medical research or to an anatomical gift program at a college? Health care and medical graduate students need bodies to practice on, not just learning from the books.

Donating your body is cheap because it is free. The college/graduate school will come pick up the body as long as the body is within their mile radius and the next of kin calls within 24 hours of the body being dead.

Anybody can donate their body to an anatomical gift program as long as they are 18 years old or the parents/guardians donate the body and the next of kin must know your wishes, and your wishes must be on your will.

No embalmed bodies, no infectious diseases, extensive trauma at the time of death, advanced decomposition, extreme obesity or malnutrition. If the dead body has some disease like cancer, the college/graduate school will cremate the infected body part(s)or organ(s) and the ashes will be given to the next of kin.

Talk it over with your next of kin, doctor and lawyer, if the decision is right for you, contact a college or medical school for the paper work. This a decision not to be taken lightly, but if you do decide to donate your body, will be helping health care and graduate students fulfill their goals.
