Shocking exchange
I read with disappointment about the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl from Afghanistan where he had been held–possibly a result of his own dereliction of duty– since 2009. The rumors abounded about exactly how he was captured and I read them all as well way back in 2009. He did not sound like a proud American to me. While I do not wish him harm I do question the use of our troops in obtaining his freedom while another decorated Marine is being held in Mexico. The fact that he was released to Qatar has me a little worried since this is where my son is deployed now as part of his KC-135 tanker crew. Maybe you as a paper can elaborate in a future article about this “urgent” health crisis Sgt Bergdahl is suddenly facing. Why can’t the government just make that part of the rescue reason? Sounds like a desertion went awry to me!
