Making dreams come true

Every once in a while someone comes along and helps us make our dreams come true, this is exactly what happened on July 7 as the staff of the Williamsport Home on Ravine Road here in Williamsport took a group of Residents to Latrobe Pennsylvania to visit the Pittsburgh Steelers Training Camp. This may not seem to be a big deal to most people; however, as my father is a resident at the home and being from Pittsburgh, he had often talked about “going to Latrobe to see the Steelers.” This is to publicly thank the staff of the Williamsport Home for making this trip possible. What was unique about this experience was that not only did the residents travel to Latrobe to see the Steelers; special arrangements were made for the group to meet the Steelers after practice.

It’s a special experience to realize when our own dreams come true, but when others are responsible for making the dreams of your aging parent come true, you can’t say thank you enough. I have to recognize the staff at the Williamsport Home for their professionalism, caring and genuine love for the residents that went on this trip. I hope that one day someone will show you all the kindness and love that you showed my father by providing you the opportunity to remove something from your “bucket list.” On behalf of my father and myself, thank you.
