The psalmist wrote “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it “(Psalm 24:1).
As the earth’s population grows and humanity’s ability to impact the created order increases, we face an increasing and intensifying cluster of environmental concerns. Christians believe the whole creation is God’s handiwork and belongs to God. Creation has value in itself because God created and values it
(Proverbs 8:29-31: When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: When he appointed the foundations of the earth: Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.)
God delights in His creation and desires wholeness and well-being. God created the earth, affirmed it was good, and established an everlasting covenant with humanity to take responsibility for the whole of creation.
We wish to share this proper perspective on all present and future activity in God’s creation. We desire to promote and participate as good stewards of God’s creation. We continue to pray that what we do today and what we choose to do tomorrow in Muncy and this world will reflect this attitude.
