Positive opening

The opening of Nippenose Valley Village has been so positive for the residents of the Nippenose Valley! Remember when the elementary school closed? We lost a place for the kids’ Bower Basketball, we lost our community hub, we lost jobs. The new facility provides employment, senior care, indoor and outdoor recreation opportunities, community rooms, and community events. Expansion plans include a new handicap accessible nature trail and other recreational features that will be offered to the residents of the Village as well as the members of the surrounding community.

The Village has applied for a grant from the Department of Community and Economic Development through Limestone Township. The Nippenose Valley Village project is the type of investment we need to see in the valley, and by awarding this grant the money will be reinvested where it matters most, right here! Our business owners need to see that Gov. Wolf and Pennsylvania government officials respect and value investments that businesses are making in our communities!

For 30 years I’ve been involved with local seniors here in Lycoming County, and seen the need for elder care in the Nippenose valley area. In my professional capacity at Nippenose Valley Village, I experience the positive impact this project has on this community. How wonderful to see area seniors able to stay in their community while still receiving exceptional care!

The awarding of these types of grants rely on input from the community. If we want to see our tax dollars reinvested here in our neighborhood, we need to contact the governor’s office and let him know that this grant matters to us, to our parents and grandparents, and to our community!
