An obsession

Mr. David Faust seems to have an obsession with graduated taxes.

All of his letters tell us how unfair income taxes are and suggests that property taxes are the only fair way to assess school and local taxes.

In his latest letter, he adds the per capita tax to his list of an unfair assessment.

Since the per capita tax is based on the occupational title rather than income, I have to agree with his objection to this tax.

But he doesn’t see the similarity in the property tax assessment in that it is based on an arbitrary valuation of property rather than income.

I have to wonder if Mr. Faust does not own property since he always wants to tax real estate rather than income.
