I quote from the Air Force Times, 10.30.17 – 11.06.17, editorial “White Nationalists are a threat to national security” and I salute our military leaders as “In the days following the riot in Charlottesville, the four service chiefs each issued their own clear and unequivocal denouncement of the white supremacy that was on display.” In the “Exclusive Active Duty Survey,” under “white nationalism, nearly one in four troops polled say they have seen examples of white nationalism among their fellow service members.”
I salute our troops for their sophistication, as our troops “rate it as a larger national security threat than Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan.” I salute the refugees and first and second generation immigrants, the Buddhists, Christians, Jews, and Muslims, not just those who serve in our military, but also those who have provided me and thousands of others noteworthy medical care unavailable in most rural areas and small towns.
As Americans and Valley residents, we have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving season.
Perhaps we can best demonstrate our thankfulness and patriotism by being grateful for our neighbors and practicing the universal Golden Rule.
