It pays to read

What I love about reading are the insights into human nature offered by a wide range of authors. Here are two examples. The first is a quote from “The Battle Over Everything” by Gordy Slack. The second quote is from “Gentlemen of the Road” by Michael Chabon. And while these books are not about Trump, both quotes are spot on descriptions of our current President.

Quote number one: ” He displayed the kind of confidence that only the ignorant can wear in public without embarrassment.” Quote number two: “He has the ability to keep his opinions uncontaminated by experience.”

When President Trump says he knows more about ISIS than our military, or when he continues to deny the Russians threatened the integrity of the 2016 election, he shows how relevant these quotes are. It really does pay to read.
