How soon we forget

I recently read the article in the April 5th edition of the Sun-Gazette about artifact identification. It is most unfortunate that the person who was responsible for the accumulation of the artifacts at the Thomas Taber Museum was not mentioned. That person was the late James P. Bressler. His knowledge of Native American artifacts who passed down to future generations of the archaeology society and the museum.

For him not to be mentioned is a great injustice to his legacy. Mr. Bressler was responsible for the rebuilding of the museum after the fire in 1960. Had it not been for his efforts at fundraising the Thomas Taber Museum probably would not exist today or at least not at its current capacity.
