Per an article Aug. 1 titled “Tax office apology for deadline error”, Commissioner Mirabito inferred anyone paying taxes on a deadline date should go to the post office and have the envelope stamped. The problem with this is that we have mailboxes, postal workers and rural area carriers and all mail goes to the Williamsport Post Office on Reach Road, then to Harrisburg for separation and then back to the Williamsport Post Office for delivery.
The United States postal system is in complete disarray. We should put pressure on our elected officials to have the Williamsport Post Office on Reach Road process our mail again — no more Harrisburg. History is repeating itself — the Pony Express minus Jessie James.
