More rants

Early in Trump’s Presidency he was caught speaking about the “s-hole countries” in Africa. That’s Trump’s code word for black. He openly pondered why the United States cannot attract more immigrants from Norway. What he really meant was immigrants who are “white.” Now, he is on a new twitter rant about the city of Baltimore. He called Baltimore “disgusting, rat and rodent infested.” Call it what you wish, but this is yet another racist rant. Trump got the fuel for his current rant from a segment on Fox News, the go-to source, I believe, for all “Trump facts.”

I had family members live in East and West Baltimore for several years. They, nor I, ever encountered any rodents. I did run into the Aquarium, Camden Yards, Fort McHenry, and the renowned Johns Hopkins Medical Center. In his tweet storms, maybe Trump is actually referring to his son-in-law Jared Kushner. The Kushner family business owns over 9,000 rental units in Baltimore and the vicinity. In one year, they sustained over 200 code violations for mold, maggots, and mice infestations. Kushner’s property management company has been publicly referred to as “slumlords.”

Now we all know that Trump could care less about the fallout from his latest diatribe. Maryland has only a few Electoral College votes and they always go Democratic. He is probably preening in the Oval office, saying “who cares.” He is headlining the news cycle and he craves that limelight. And at the same time, I believe his goal is to punish those who heroically confront his lies, racism and abuse of power, such as Congressman Elijah Cummings who serves the Baltimore area.

Yet again with his “Baltimore rant,” we witness the public and personal lack of dignity and character in Trump. Week by week, he lowers the bar of respect for the office of the Presidency. His level of untruthfulness, racism, and hypocrisy continues to grow, in my opinion.

To those who wish to defend Trump, please feel free. But spare me your defense by mentioning and comparing Trump to the acts of Obama, Clinton, Comey, Pelosi, Mueller, or others. There is no comparison. This is about Trump. History will record him as the poster child for deceit, racism, and misrepresenting the truth at every opportunity.
