Blah, Blah, Blog!
When I was a little girl, a long time ago, (back in the 50s) my mother always seemed to know what I was doing, even when her back was turned. When I would ask her how she knew, she would tell me she had eyes in the back of her head. I believed it until I was probably 10 or so, (we were much less sophisticated back then than children are now). When I told her that the other day, she just laughed. She's 78 now and feistier than ever. She had lung cancer two years ago and it took a real toll on her physically. She is frail, where once she was vibrant. I made the mistake of telling her the other day that she was frail, boy did she let me have it with both barrells. "I've never been frail a day in my life!" she said, rather firmly. That was the end of that conversation. I am working on getting my dad his purple heart. He is a WWII veteran and at the age of 83, it is high time he got his just desserts. He took a bullet for Uncle Sam and deserves to be compensated for it. The only problem is, all his military records were lost in the St. Louis fire of 1972, and the only way to prove he ever was wounded in combat is if there is some kind of hospital records that still exist of when he was treated in France. I am hoping Congressman John Peterson's office can help. I finally convinced dad to fill out the required paperwork today and it is on its way. Keep your fingers crossed for me. That's all for now, God bless and thanks for reading.
