Slow Down and Live

Winter weather is upon us and with the blowing and drifting snow, there is more of a chance of having an accident. With reduced visibility comes the need to slow down when you are driving. Just reducing your speed by 5 mph can save your life-or someone elses. And don't jack on your brakes on slippery road surfaces, or you will slide, possibly into someone else, off the road or into a tree. Let off the gas and lightly tap on your brakes if you are going through a slippery area. Don't oversteer if you start to slide. Today there have been multiple accidents as the near whiteout conditions have blown up across Pennsylvania from a cold front draped from upstate NY to WV. And those of you in 4wheel drive vehicles, don't think you can drive faster just because you are in an SUV or pick-up. You are just as susceptible to losing control as the front wheel drive vehicles. You are not indestructable!

DON'T do that if you have anti-lock brakes, that will cause them not to work properly. Steady pressure on the pedal, let the computer do it's thing.
