Family matters

Mommy's fillin' up

So, just as I suspected, the Easter bunny was one busy dude this year. He made stops at our house, Pop's, Mamu's and Bingy's, Grammy's and Yia-Yia's and even church.

After a very busy day, we returned home with just about six Easter baskets, some of them missing lots of candy. Boo learned early on that if Mommy says no, Daddy might say yes if he didn't hear Mommy say no, and vice versa. The baskets were loaded with Skittles and Starburst, M&Ms and Peeps, but Boo's favorite candies were the foil-wrapped chocolate eggs and Easter bunnies. (I figured this out late last night when I was going through each of the baskets to combine them and I could have made a baseball-sized ball of unwrapped foil.)

Boo had fun at the Easter egg hunts filling basket after basket, while B-2 spent the day eating and just plain looking cute. When Boo woke up this morning, she was left with one little Easter basket with one of each item to choose from. I hid the other baskets. I thought she would say something like, "No Mommy, me want BIG BIG BIG basket," but I was wrong. She politely picked out a Tootsie Roll and a foil-wrapped chocolate and put them in her coat pocket while I walked out the door a happy mommy. Yes, because Boo did remember what it was like to have only one piece of candy in her mouth at a time, but, more importantly, because my bag was loaded down with some sweet treats! Since my husband fell asleep early, I got first dibs on all the goodies. You snooze, you lose!
