Time for Spring cleaning and getting in shape

Wow, have you noticed how dirty the sides of our highways and byways are lately? It's like every person driving by eating fast food or drinking something has decided the roadside is their own personal trash can. With Earth Day right around the corner, I'd like people to start keeping their trash in their cars till they get someplace where it can be disposed of properly. Better yet, stop eating so much junk and make healthier choices. To do my part, I will be taking care of my own little corner of the world, about 1/2 mile of roadway near my home this weekend. I will go for a walk with a large trashbag, and pick up everyone else's trash alongside the road. It will be my first walk since last fall. I haven't been out all winter because of bad weatther and now that spring has sprung I have decided to give walking every day another shot. Hopefully I will be able to lose the 20 pounds I put on over the long winter of inactivity. I challenge my readers to get out there and do some Spring cleaning of your own to make a difference! Number one, carry a trash bag in your car for your trash. Number two, go for a walk and pick up along the road near where you live. You can get in shape at the same time, feel better by doing something about your health, and about the health of our planet.
