Something drastic needs to be done

August 31, 2009 - Cheryl Clarke
Our state government needs to get it together quickly and get a budget passed. Too much time has gone by since June 30, the deadline for the 2010 budget and now the legislature is on a break. If the average taxpayer ran their household that way, refusing to pay their mortgages and other bills, we would all be thrown out on the street. We still have to pay our bills, on time, while trying to live within our means, on a budget that includes an ever rising cost of living, while our income remains the same or goes down. Senior citizens are suffering, but many others are in the same boat now, living on "fixed incomes." Get it together Gov. Rendell and legislature. We've heard enough excuses and finger pointing. Your time is running out to remain in office. The voters will see to it.
