first-inning Montoursville-South update

12:44 p.m.: Montoursville's Aaron Russell takes the first pitch from Alex Carpenter high for a ball to start Game 2.
12:49: Travis Singer delivers the game's first hit, moving Christian Clark to second with a one-out single.
12:52: Carpenter escapes a jam, retiring two straight with runners on first and second.
12:55: Adam Engel, the lone returning South starter from last year, leads off the bottom of the first wtih a single to right field.
1:00: First baseman Dalton Young makes a nice play down the line, throwing to Ranck on a close play at first to retire Alex Carpenter and leave Engel stranded at third. The play was too close to call from the press box but South coach Shawn Finn was upset, sprinting toward the base umpire to voice his displeasure. Going to the second inning in a scoreless game.
