3:08: Russell is doing it with his glove too. The senior shortstop charges a Cal Missigman slow roller and makes a snap throw to first to beat him by a step.

3:11: Ranck works another 1-2-3 inning, ending the game with a knee-buckling strike three. Ranck pitches the best game of his young scholastic career, striking out seven and retiring the last seven batters he faced while allowing just one earned run. If Ranck is this good now, how good is he going to be in the next few years?

Montoursville wins 7-2 and advances to its second straight championship to face Loyalsock in a battle for the bridge. The Warriors have lost in the last two championships they played in, falling to Williamsport last year and in 2000. Loyalsock will be seeking its first Brawl championship of the 20th century.
