| | Williamsport-South 5th-inning updateMay 15, 2010 - Chris Masse5 p.m.: Fagnano is doing it all today. The pitcher leads off the fifth inning with a triple to deep center field, husting in with a head-first slide to just beat the throw to third. The way Fagnano is throwing, if South falls farther behind it will be in serious trouble. 5:04: Courtesy runner Jeremy Rall steals home on a first and third double steal. Perry Rogers is thrown out by Eck at second but Williamsport adds an insurance run. Williamsport 5, South 0. 5:11: Evan Ott breaks up the Fagnano no-hitter, hitting a one-out single into center field. Second baseman Kyle Schneider tried making a diving stop but the ball was hit too hard to stop. Fagnano goes 4 1/3 no-hit innings. 5:16: South continues to struggle with runners on base. The Mounties load the bases, following two straight walks but Fagnano escapes trouble when he induces a first-pitch fielder's choice to shortstop. Fagnano had struggled on the mound earlier in the season and entered this game with a 12.60 ERA but is stepping up big in a game Williamsport needs to win and is two innings away from his first career shutout.
