Montoursville-Loyalsock 1st-inning update
May 15, 2010 - Chris Masse
6:53 p.m.: Loyalsock starter Gabe Noyalis throws a called-strike to Aaron Russell and the 2010 championship is underway.
6:54: Russell is retired for the first time today, grounding out to second after going 4 for 4 with a walk against South Williamsport.
6:55: Christian Clark triples down the right-field line.
6:56: Travis Singer makes it 1-0 a pitch later, hitting a sacrifice fly to center field.
7:03: It takes Loyalsock seven minutes to tie the game. After Tyler Pinkerton is hit by a pitch, Stephen Stopper crushes a RBI triple nearly 400 feet to dead center field. Loyalsock's seniors have come up big thus far today.
7:05: Stopper has been one of the area's best players the last three years and uses some good baserunning to put Loyalsock ahead 2-1. Stopper goes a bit down the line on a Gabe Noyalis grounder to first, then breaks for home on throw to first, scoring on a close play.
7:06: Brian Stopper appears healthy after injuring his surgically repaired shoulder in the day's opening game as he belts a first-pitch double down the right-field line. Loyalsock 2, Montoursville 1.
Montoursville 1--1 1 0
Loyalsock 2--2 1 0
