South vs. Williamsport First Inning Update
May 14, 2011 - Chris Masse
Pitchers: Tyler House, South vs. Jared Fagnano, Williamsport South top of the first: Andrew Gipe walked. Gipe to second, Alex Carpenter to first on E-6. Brandon Gantz flies out to center field. Ryan Orgitano strikes out. Kyle Eck grounds out to third base. Williamsport bottom of the first: Fagnano doubles down the left-field line. Moves to third on Josh McCormick single to left. Sadiq Burkholder runs for Fagnano, Zack Fuller runs for McCormick. Kyle Schneider strikes out, but Burkholder scores on wild pitch. Fuller moves to second. Fuller scores on Jake Levering's single down left-field line. Ray Plymette walks. Carpenter relieves House. Levering steals third. Plymette steals second. Jeremy Rall strikes out. Sisto Campana grounds out to second. South 0--0 0 0 Williamsport 2--2 3 1 Tyler House, Alex Carpenter (1) and Kyle Eck. Jared Fagnano and Josh McCormick.
Notes: Gipe battled back from 0-2 to draw a lead-off walk. Fagnano is the hardest-throwing pitcher I've seen this season. South is struggling to bring runners in. Mounties have stranded 13 baserunners in their last eight innings. Nice job by Carpenter coming in and stranding runners at second and third with one out. That could be big as the game progresses. Going back to last game against BEA, Williamsport has scored 9 runs in its last two at-bats.
