Chris Masse

Writer Chris Masse came to The Williamsport Sun-Gazette in 1999, just 11 days after graduating with honors from Penn State University where he earned a degree in journalism. During his time at the Sun-Gazette, Chris has covered a variety of high school, collegiate and youth sports. He has covered The Little League World Series nine times and has won three Keystone Press Awards for excellence in sportswriting. Chris especially enjoys covering high school sports where students seem to play more for the love of the game than anything else. Chris played five sports (cross country, football, basketball, baseball and track and field) during his high school days at Garnet Valley. In 1994, he played center field for the only District 1 baseball championship team in school history and also was a member of a district medalist 4x100 relay team in track. Chris is happily married to his beautiful wife Missy and has a lovely 1-year-old daughter named Katie. Missy and Katie are the loves of Chris's life and to borrow a line from Lou Gehrig, he considers himself the luckiest man alive to be able to share his life with his two favorite girls.
