Police: Woman hid sex crime evidence because she bought teen victim alcohol

March 11, 2010

Before going out to visit friends on the night of Jan. 15, Jennifer Renee Moore purchased two bottles of vodka for her 17-year-old daughter and the teen’s 16-year-old girlfriend, both of whom would then spend the evening drinking the liquor while taking care of their own baby sons, city police allege. When the 38-year-old Moore returned hours later to her Newberry Estates apartment at 2500 Federal Ave, she discovered the 16-year-old passed out, naked on the couch and her daughter passed out on the floor in the girl’s bedroom, according to Agent Kevin Stiles. “There was evidence that the 16-year-old may have been sexually assaulted while she was passed out on the couch,” Stiles said in an affidavit. Stiles said that because Moore was afraid of being evicted from the public housing development, she allegedly took steps to cover up the the possible assault by hiding the victim’s clothing and having friends take the girl to Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
